Fairness and Diversity Unit

The Fairness and Diversity Unit is responsible for:

  • Managing and providing advice and guidance on the prevention and resolution of:
    • Formal grievances and industrial disputes concerning staff
    • Misconduct, discipline and appeal processes concerning staff
    • Complaints of unlawful discrimination, sexual harassment, discriminatory harassment, and bullying, by or against staff or students
  • Identifying and initiating the development of related policies, programs and services
  • Recruitment, selection, appointment, training, advice and support for Advisers (inc. Anti-Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, Bullying and Whistleblower Protected Disclosure Officers networks), conciliators and investigators
  • Promotion of related policies and the avoidance of complaints
