Casual to fortnightly payroll transition
Casual and fixed term/continuing employees are on two separate payrolls in Themis (referred to as the casual payroll and the fortnightly payroll). A person cannot be on both payroll systems at the same time so when a casual employee is successful for a fixed term/continuing position, we must transfer the individual from one payroll to the other.
Depending on the start date, this transition can result in a large gap between the individual’s final casual pay and their first fortnightly pay. When hiring an individual into a fixed term or continuing position, first check to see if they hold a casual assignment anywhere in the University. If so, you can refer to the schedule below to help you to determine the best start date.

The schedule shows you when the individual can expect to receive their final casual pay and their first fortnightly pay. It also contains the cut off dates and time card periods for the casual hours worked prior to commencing in their new position. - About the Casual to Fortnightly Process (.pdf)
