Car Parking (University Provided)

Description

Eligible staff may elect to salary package the cost of the University's car parking expense.

What is allowable?

The cost of car parking expenses where all of the following apply:

• The car is parked for a period of more than 4 hours between 7 am and 7 pm.
• The car park is at or in the vicinity of the employee's normal place of work.
• The car is used to travel between the employee's place of residence and their normal place of work.

Taxation issues / status

No FBT applies. Universities are exempt from FBT on this benefit.

Substantiation Documentation

No substantiation is required.

Form of Payment

Pre-tax fortnighly deductions will be made from your gross salary.

Package Cost

The cost of the car parking is determined by the University and is reviewed on an annual bases. There is no administrative charge associated with this benefit.
