150 years, 150 stories

Proud Traditions : Bold Endeavours : Help Create History

Striving for excellence has always been a goal at The University of Melbourne. This is reflected in our founding motto, Postera Crescam Laude, ‘to grow in the esteem of future generations’. 150 years later, the University remains true to this vision, ranking highly in recent international and national benchmarks. The University is now embarking on a new strategy entitled ‘Growing Esteem’. This signals our intention to remain a leading education provider in the 21st Century. Beginning in 2008, the University will commence offering a six new undergraduate degrees. Students undertaking these degrees may then elect to undertake a two year professional qualification at Masters level, or a three year higher degree. The changes are aligned to changes in higher education in Europe, commonly known as the Bologna model.
