Health Service (Parkville Campus)
The University Health Service provides services to students and staff of the University and other members of the community. The Health Service is a general practitioner service and staff have particular skills and interests in the areas of health promotion, illness prevention, the early detection of disease and the management of health problems.
Reduced Membership Costs for Ambulance Service Victoria
As an employee of the University you are eligible for the following reduced annual membership rates with the Ambulance Service Victoria.
Single membership: $54.00 (normally $60.00)
Family membership: $108.00 (normally $120.00)
Counselling Service (Parkville Campus)
University staff member have access to the Counselling Service, which provides free counselling services to students and staff of the University. This service provides initial assessment of presenting issues and develops appropriate therapeutic interventions for clients. The Counselling Service also delivers a variety of community development and consultancy programs.
Fitness and Sporting Facilities
Melbourne University Sport (MUS) is a members-only (student & staff) facility. All current staff and their immediate families (siblings, partner, spouse, and children) can become members.
This is a great incentive for those who enjoy a health lifestyle as the facilities at Melbourne University Sport are considered among the very best in Melbourne. Following a $5.3 million architecturally designed refurbishment, the heritage-listed Beaurepaire Centre now provides state-of-the-art fitness facilities for the University Community.
MUS offers various programs and services including an extensive Group fitness timetable, Short Courses, Relaxation and Sports Massage, Physiotherapy and Personal Training. Sporting facilities include a Strength & Fitness Gym, 25m heated indoor lap Pool, Squash Courts and two multi-purpose sports stadiums.
