Consultancies
The OD Unit provides an internal consultancy service to assist managers in meeting the specific needs of their work units, working collaboratively to:
- Problem-solve and advise on needs and issues
- Provide support in the engagement of external consultants and in clarifying the consultancy brief
- Identify training or development solutions.
Areas of support may include business planning, managing change, team building, facilitating focus groups or sessions at retreats, and the development and delivery of customised training to meet specific needs.
Where an external consultant is engaged, the department meets the consultant's fees.
Management and Leadership Coaching
The OD Unit assists academic and professional staff managers in the engagement of experienced coaches to support them in their leadership roles at the University. Management and leadership coaching offers opportunities for senior staff to fast track their skills and knowledge in specific areas where they are driving strategic initiatives, have limited experience, or at times when they are faced with a particularly challenging issue or change.
The cost of this service is met by the individuals and departments involved.
On-Location Courses
Many courses listed in this directory may be run at your location. The OD Unit recognises that training offered at your location at a time and place that suits the department may be a productive way of meeting the learning and development needs of staff, particularly those staff at non-Parkville locations.
The department or work area concerned meets the costs of on-location courses and provides the required local administrative support.
